Hamamelis x intermedia, commonly known as witch hazel, is a deciduous hybrid shrub known for its vibrant winter blooms. It produces fragrant, spidery flowers in shades of yellow, orange, or red from late winter to early spring. The plant thrives in well-drained soil and partial to full sun, reaching heights of 10-15 feet. Its foliage turns yellow, orange, or red in autumn. Popular cultivars include 'Arnold Promise' and 'Diane'. It is valued for its ornamental appeal and hardiness in USDA zones 5-8.
