Hamamelis japonica, commonly known as Japanese witch hazel, is a deciduous shrub native to Japan. It blooms in late winter to early spring with fragrant, spidery yellow flowers. The leaves turn vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and red in autumn. It prefers well-drained soil and partial to full sun. Often used in gardens for its ornamental value and winter interest.
