Salvia verticillata, commonly known as lilac sage or whorled clary, is a perennial herb native to Europe and Asia. It features whorls of violet or lilac flowers on tall spikes, blooming from summer to early fall. The plant has hairy, green leaves and grows up to 60 cm tall. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies. Drought-tolerant once established, it's often used in borders, rock gardens, or wildflower meadows.
