Aconitum japonicum, commonly known as Japanese aconite, is a perennial herb native to Japan. It belongs to the Ranunculaceae family and is known for its striking blue or purple helmet-shaped flowers. The plant is highly toxic due to the presence of alkaloids like aconitine, which can be fatal if ingested. It grows in mountainous regions and blooms in late summer to early autumn. Traditionally used in folk medicine, it requires extreme caution due to its poisonous nature.
