Hedera helix, commonly known as English ivy, is an evergreen climbing vine native to Europe and Western Asia. It features dark green, lobed leaves and produces small yellow-green flowers followed by black berries. It thrives in shade and is often used as ground cover or for climbing walls. However, it can become invasive, damaging structures and outcompeting native plants. Toxic if ingested, it may cause skin irritation. Requires pruning to control growth.
