Creeping phlox (Phlox stolonifera 'Purpurea')

Phlox stolonifera, commonly known as creeping phlox, is a low-growing perennial native to the eastern United States. It forms dense mats of foliage with small, oval leaves and produces clusters of fragrant, star-shaped flowers in spring, typically in shades of pink, purple, or white. It thrives in partial shade to full sun and prefers moist, well-drained soil. Ideal for ground cover, rock gardens, or woodland settings, it attracts pollinators like butterflies and hummingbirds. It spreads via stolons, making it excellent for erosion control. Hardy in USDA zones 5-9.
