Allium tuberosum, commonly known as garlic chives or Chinese chives, is a perennial plant in the onion family. It has flat, grass-like leaves and produces small white flowers in late summer. Native to Asia, it is widely used in cooking for its mild garlic flavor. The leaves, flowers, and stems are edible and often added to stir-fries, dumplings, and salads. It grows well in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. The plant is also known for attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies.
