Native to Europe, it grows in woodlands, hedgerows, and disturbed areas. The plant is valued for its fruit, used in jams, desserts, and beverages. It spreads aggressively via seeds and root suckers. Leaves are used in traditional medicine for minor ailments. Requires full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil.
