Bistorta amplexicaulis, commonly known as mountain fleece or red bistort, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the Himalayas. It features dense spikes of small, bright red or pink flowers that bloom from late summer to early autumn. The plant prefers moist, well-drained soil and thrives in full sun to partial shade. It is often used in gardens for its striking floral display and attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies. The leaves are lance-shaped and clasp the stem, giving it the name "amplexicaulis." It is hardy and low-maintenance, suitable for borders or wildflower gardens.
