Cercidiphyllum japonicum, commonly known as Katsura tree, is a deciduous tree native to Japan and China. It is prized for its heart-shaped leaves that turn vibrant yellow, orange, or red in autumn and emit a sweet, caramel-like fragrance when they fall. The tree can grow up to 45 meters tall and prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. It is often used as an ornamental tree in gardens and parks.
