Wood garlic (Allium ursinum)

Allium ursinum, commonly known as wild garlic, ramsons, or bear's garlic, is a perennial plant native to Europe and Asia. It grows in moist, shady woodlands and produces broad, lance-shaped leaves with a strong garlic scent. In spring, it blooms with white, star-shaped flowers. The leaves, flowers, and bulbs are edible and used in cooking, offering a mild garlic flavor. It has medicinal properties, including antibacterial and antioxidant effects. Avoid confusion with toxic look-alikes like lily of the valley.
