Cucurbita maxima, commonly known as winter squash, includes varieties like Hubbard, Buttercup, and Kabocha. It is a warm-season annual vine producing large, edible fruits with thick rinds. Rich in vitamins A and C, it thrives in well-drained soil and full sun. Fruits mature in 80-120 days and store well. Used in cooking, baking, and ornamental displays. Native to South America.
