Wild cherry (Prunus avium 'Dönissens Gelbe')

Prunus avium, commonly known as wild cherry or sweet cherry, is a deciduous tree native to Europe, western Asia, and parts of North Africa. It produces white flowers in spring and edible red to dark purple cherries in summer. The tree grows up to 15–32 meters tall and is valued for its fruit and ornamental beauty. It prefers well-drained soil and full sun. The wood is also used in furniture making. Birds often spread its seeds.
