Ranunculus acris, commonly known as meadow buttercup or tall buttercup, is a perennial flowering plant in the Ranunculaceae family. It is native to Europe and Asia but has spread to other regions. It grows up to 1 meter tall with bright yellow flowers and deeply lobed leaves. It thrives in moist meadows and grasslands. The plant is toxic if ingested, causing irritation to the skin and mucous membranes. It is often considered a weed in pastures due to its toxicity to livestock.
