Pennisetum setaceum, commonly known as fountain grass, is a perennial ornamental grass native to Africa and the Middle East. It features arching, feathery flower plumes in shades of pink, purple, or white, and slender green or burgundy leaves. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, often used in landscaping for its drought tolerance and aesthetic appeal. However, it is considered invasive in some regions, such as parts of the U.S., where it can outcompete native plants. Regular maintenance is needed to control its spread.
