Picea pungens, commonly known as the Colorado blue spruce, is a coniferous evergreen tree native to the Rocky Mountains in the U.S. It is known for its striking blue-gray needle-like leaves and conical shape. It grows up to 75 feet tall and is popular in landscaping for its ornamental value and drought resistance. The tree produces cylindrical cones and thrives in well-drained soils with full sun exposure. It is often used as a Christmas tree.
