Adonis vernalis, commonly known as spring pheasant's eye or false hellebore, is a perennial flowering plant native to Europe and Asia. It belongs to the Ranunculaceae family and blooms in early spring with bright yellow flowers. The plant is toxic due to cardiac glycosides but has been used in traditional medicine for heart conditions. It prefers sunny, dry habitats like meadows and rocky slopes. Conservation efforts are in place due to habitat loss and overharvesting.
