Citrus sinensis, commonly known as the sweet orange, is a fruit-bearing tree in the Rutaceae family. It produces the popular orange fruit, rich in vitamin C and widely consumed fresh or as juice. Native to Southeast Asia, it thrives in subtropical climates. The tree has glossy evergreen leaves, fragrant white flowers, and round, orange-colored fruits. It is cultivated globally for its sweet, juicy fruit and essential oils. Varieties include Valencia, Navel, and Blood oranges.
