Equisetum arvense, commonly known as field horsetail, is a perennial fern-like plant. It has hollow, jointed stems with whorls of thin branches. It thrives in moist, sandy soils and is often found in wetlands or disturbed areas. Known for its high silica content, it has been used traditionally for medicinal purposes. However, it can be invasive and difficult to control due to its deep rhizome system.
