Equisetum sylvaticum, commonly known as wood horsetail, is a perennial fern ally found in damp, shady woodlands across the Northern Hemisphere. It features slender, branched stems with whorls of needle-like leaves and cone-like strobili for reproduction. Preferring acidic soils, it spreads via rhizomes and is often used in traditional medicine.
