Ligustrum ovalifolium, commonly known as California privet or oval-leaved privet, is a semi-evergreen shrub native to Japan and Korea. It grows up to 4 meters tall, with glossy, oval-shaped leaves and small, fragrant white flowers in summer, followed by black berries. Often used for hedges due to its dense growth and tolerance to pruning. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts to various soil types. Can be invasive in some regions.
