Ligustrum vulgare, commonly known as wild privet, is a deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub native to Europe and North Africa. It grows up to 3-5 meters tall, with dark green, lance-shaped leaves and small, fragrant white flowers in summer, followed by black berries. It is often used for hedges due to its dense growth but can be invasive in some regions. The berries are toxic to humans but attract birds. It thrives in various soils and tolerates pruning well.
