Magnolia stellata, commonly known as the star magnolia, is a small deciduous tree or shrub native to Japan. It features fragrant, star-shaped white or pink flowers that bloom in early spring before the leaves emerge. It grows up to 4-6 meters tall and prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soil in full sun to partial shade. Popular for its ornamental value.
