Oriental poppy (Papaver orientale)

Papaver orientale, commonly known as Oriental poppy, is a perennial flowering plant native to the Caucasus, northeastern Turkey, and northern Iran. It features large, showy flowers in shades of red, orange, pink, or white with dark centers. The plant blooms in late spring to early summer and prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Its foliage dies back after flowering, re-emerging in fall. It is drought-tolerant once established but dislikes excessive moisture. Popular in gardens for its striking blooms, it attracts pollinators. Note that all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.
