Turkey oak (Quercus cerris)

Quercus cerris, commonly known as the Turkey oak, is a deciduous tree native to southeastern Europe and Asia Minor. It grows up to 30 meters tall with deeply lobed, dark green leaves. The bark is dark and deeply fissured. It produces acorns with a distinctive mossy cup. This oak is hardy, drought-tolerant, and often planted for timber or ornamental purposes. It thrives in well-drained soils and full sun.
