Fritillaria meleagris, commonly known as snake's head fritillary or guinea hen flower, is a bulbous perennial native to Europe. It features bell-shaped, checkered flowers in shades of purple, pink, or white, blooming in spring. Prefers moist, well-drained soil and partial shade. Often found in meadows and damp grasslands. It is prized for its unique, nodding blooms and is sometimes cultivated in gardens.
