Sorbus aucuparia, commonly known as rowan or mountain ash, is a deciduous tree native to Europe and parts of Asia. It grows up to 15 meters tall, with pinnate leaves and clusters of white flowers in spring. Bright red berries appear in autumn, attracting birds. It thrives in cool climates and is often planted for ornamental or wildlife value. The berries are bitter but can be used in jams and jellies.
