Edgeworthia chrysantha, commonly known as paperbush or yellow Daphne, is a deciduous shrub native to China and the Himalayas. It is prized for its fragrant, bright yellow flowers that bloom in late winter to early spring before the leaves emerge. The plant grows up to 6 feet tall and wide, with attractive peeling bark. It thrives in partial shade and well-drained soil, making it a popular ornamental choice for gardens. The bark is also used in traditional papermaking.
