Carex grayi, commonly known as Gray's sedge, is a perennial plant native to eastern North America. It thrives in wet habitats like swamps and floodplains. Known for its distinctive star-shaped seed heads, it grows up to 3 feet tall with broad, grass-like leaves. It provides habitat for wildlife and is sometimes used in wetland restoration. Prefers full sun to partial shade and moist soil.
