Magnolia liliiflora, commonly known as the lily magnolia or purple magnolia, is a deciduous shrub native to southwest China. It features large, showy, tulip-shaped flowers in shades of pink to purple, blooming in early spring before the leaves emerge. The plant grows up to 4 meters tall and prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. It is valued for its ornamental beauty and is often used in gardens and landscapes. The flowers are fragrant and attract pollinators. Hardy in USDA zones 5-9.
