Helleborus orientalis, commonly known as the Lenten rose, is a perennial flowering plant native to Greece and Turkey. It blooms in late winter to early spring, producing rose-like flowers in shades of white, pink, purple, or green. Prefers partial shade and well-drained soil. Toxic if ingested. Hardy in USDA zones 4-9.
