Astilbe japonica, commonly known as Japanese astilbe, is a perennial plant native to Japan. It features feathery plumes of white or pink flowers in summer and fern-like foliage. Thrives in partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Ideal for borders, woodland gardens, or near water features. Attracts pollinators and is deer-resistant. Grows 1-2 feet tall. Hardy in USDA zones 4-9.
