Canna indica, commonly known as Indian shot, is a tropical flowering plant native to the Americas and the Caribbean. It features large, banana-like leaves and vibrant red, orange, or yellow flowers. It thrives in warm climates, prefers full sun, and grows well in moist, well-drained soil. Often used ornamentally, it is also edible, with starchy rhizomes consumed in some cultures. It spreads easily and can become invasive in favorable conditions.
