Leycesteria formosa, commonly known as Himalayan honeysuckle or pheasant berry, is a deciduous shrub native to the Himalayas and southwestern China. It grows up to 2 meters tall, with hollow stems and pendulous clusters of white flowers surrounded by purple bracts, followed by dark purple berries. The plant thrives in partial shade and moist soil, attracting birds and pollinators. It is considered invasive in some regions due to its rapid spread. The berries are edible but bland.
