Evergreen magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora)

Magnolia grandiflora, commonly known as the Southern magnolia, is a large evergreen tree native to the southeastern United States. It features glossy, dark green leaves and produces large, fragrant white flowers in late spring to summer. The tree can grow up to 90 feet tall and is popular in landscaping for its ornamental value. It thrives in well-drained, acidic soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. The Southern magnolia is also the state flower of Mississippi and Louisiana.
