Amsonia tabernaemontana, commonly known as blue star or eastern bluestar, is a perennial plant native to the central and southeastern United States. It features clusters of small, star-shaped, pale blue flowers in late spring to early summer and narrow, lance-shaped green leaves that turn golden yellow in fall. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soil. This low-maintenance plant is drought-tolerant once established and attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies. It grows 2-3 feet tall and wide, making it suitable for borders, meadows, or naturalized areas.
