Metasequoia glyptostroboides, commonly known as dawn redwood, is a deciduous conifer native to China. It can grow up to 50 meters tall and has a pyramidal shape with feathery, bright green foliage that turns reddish-brown in autumn. Once thought extinct, it was rediscovered in the 1940s and is now widely cultivated as an ornamental tree. It thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers full sun.
