Thymus praecox, commonly known as creeping thyme or mother-of-thyme, is a low-growing perennial herb. It features small, aromatic leaves and produces tiny pink or purple flowers in summer. Native to Europe, it thrives in well-drained soil and full sun. Often used as ground cover, it is drought-tolerant and attracts pollinators. Ideal for rock gardens, borders, or between stepping stones. Hardy in USDA zones 4-9.
