Salix fragilis, commonly known as crack willow, is a deciduous tree native to Europe and Western Asia. It grows near water, reaching up to 25 meters tall. Its brittle branches snap easily, giving it the name "fragilis." The leaves are lance-shaped, and it produces catkins in spring. Often used for erosion control and basket weaving.
