Syringa vulgaris, commonly known as common lilac, is a deciduous shrub native to the Balkan Peninsula. It is prized for its fragrant, purple or white flowers that bloom in spring. The plant grows up to 6-7 meters tall and prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is widely cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks.
