Digitalis purpurea, commonly known as foxglove, is a biennial or short-lived perennial plant native to Europe. It produces tall spikes of tubular, bell-shaped flowers in shades of purple, pink, or white with spotted throats. Highly toxic if ingested, it contains cardiac glycosides used in heart medications. Prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Attracts pollinators like bees. Often grown as an ornamental but requires caution due to its poisonous nature.
