Prunus laurocerasus, commonly known as cherry laurel, is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to regions of southeastern Europe and southwestern Asia. It features glossy, dark green leaves and produces small white flowers in spring, followed by black or dark purple berries. It is often used for hedges and landscaping due to its dense foliage and tolerance for pruning. However, all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested, containing cyanogenic glycosides. It thrives in well-drained soil and partial to full shade.
