Pinus nigra, commonly known as the Austrian pine or black pine, is a coniferous tree native to southern Europe and Asia Minor. It grows up to 55 meters tall with dark green needles in pairs and thick, scaly bark. It is drought-tolerant and often used for reforestation, windbreaks, and ornamental purposes. The tree thrives in well-drained soils and full sun.
