Acer negundo, commonly known as box elder or Manitoba maple, is a fast-growing deciduous tree native to North America. It has compound leaves with 3-7 leaflets, unlike most maples. It thrives in various soils and tolerates harsh conditions, often considered invasive. Its wood is weak but used for some woodworking. Produces winged seeds (samaras) like other maples.
