Macleaya microcarpa, also known as the plume poppy, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to China. It features large, lobed leaves and produces small, creamy-white flowers in airy panicles during summer. The plant can grow up to 2 meters tall and spreads via rhizomes, making it potentially invasive. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. Macleaya microcarpa is valued for its ornamental foliage and drought tolerance but should be managed to prevent unwanted spreading.
