Macleaya cordata, also known as plume poppy, is a perennial plant native to East Asia. It features large, lobed leaves and tall stems with airy clusters of small, creamy-white flowers. It grows up to 2.5 meters tall and spreads aggressively via rhizomes. The plant prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It is often used in ornamental gardens but can become invasive. All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.
