Penstemon hartwegii, commonly known as Hartweg's beardtongue, is a perennial flowering plant native to Mexico. It features tubular, bright red or pink flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, it blooms from late spring to early summer. Drought-tolerant and low-maintenance, it's ideal for rock gardens and borders. Grows up to 2-3 feet tall. Hardy in USDA zones 8-10.
