Flowering currant (Ribes sanguineum)

Ribes sanguineum, commonly known as flowering currant or red-flowering currant, is a deciduous shrub native to western North America. It produces clusters of pink to deep red flowers in early spring, attracting pollinators. The plant has lobed, aromatic leaves and can grow up to 3 meters tall. It thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. The berries are dark purple but are not typically eaten. It is valued for ornamental use in gardens.
