Lythrum virgatum, commonly known as European wand loosestrife, is a perennial flowering plant native to Europe and Asia. It features tall, slender stems with lance-shaped leaves and clusters of pink to purple flowers in summer. It thrives in moist soils and full sun, often found in wetlands. It can be invasive in some regions, outcompeting native species.
