Geranium phaeum, commonly known as dusky crane's-bill or mourning widow, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Europe. It features dark purple to almost black flowers with reflexed petals, blooming in late spring to early summer. The plant grows up to 60 cm tall with deeply lobed, palmate leaves. It thrives in partial shade and moist, well-drained soil, making it ideal for woodland gardens. Hardy and low-maintenance, it attracts pollinators and is resistant to deer and rabbits.
